Hello, I’m Chris McAlpin with SoundFinancial. It’s March 23rd, and we want to continue to keep you updated regarding your investments, the economy, and hopefully bring some joy in these new and odd times. Recently, we posted a VLOG on 2 topics: 1. What have we (at Sound) done?, and 2. What are we watching?
If you have not seen those, a short article is included with this VLOG outlining the two steps. Today, let’s cover “What are we planning for the future?”
- First , in our recent conservative moves, we have been raising cash (as much as possible) to prepare to participate in future growth. We believe there is a day coming when these markets will turn around and we want you to be ready. In the meantime, we want you to be conservative.
- Secondly, we are studying past markets like 1929,m 1973 and 2008, to see what asset classes perform well in times of extreme stress. Couple this with the Fed purchasing a massive amount of bonds. We are watching the bond market closely as our first opportunity.
- Third, we are building a distressed stock list for our future portfolios. In our opinion, some great companies are doing good and profitable work. Their stocks are getting beaten up right now and we believe you will want to own some of these, at the right time, which is not yet.
Please keep in mind that I am speaking in generalities and not about anyone’s account specifically.
There are good days ahead of us, we truly believe. So, trust God and find something to enjoy today.
These are good verses to hang on to from Psalm 4, this is verse 1:
“Answer me when I call to you, O my righteous God. Give me relief from my distress; be merciful to me and hear my prayers.” Then David ends the chapter with verse 8; “I will lie down and sleep in peace, for you alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety.”
